Asagai is probably different from the men that Berneatha has known throughout her life in Chicago. What do you think of Asagai? Do you think he and Berneatha could be boyfriend and girlfriend? What might stand in the way of their having a successful relationship?
Asagai is an African man who went to school is Berneatha. That's how they met. Bennie (Berneatha) already has a boyfriend, but it seems to me like her and Asagai have a special relationship. The only thing standing in their way is Bennie's boyfriend.

ReplyDeleteBy the way the bond between Asagai and Bennie looks, it seems as though they may be compatible and have a strong relationship between one another. I'm guessing it's because they met in school and they've had plenty of time to become good friends and get to know each other. I think Asagai could be a loyal boyfriend to Bennie because he treats her differently and gives her a gift from home. However, because Beneatha has a boyfriend already, they can't exactly "get together"; not to mention her current boyfriend is fairly rich. In addition, because Asagai is from Nigeria, there's a possiblity that he could go back or something.
ReplyDeleteI think that Asagi gets along more with Bernethea more than George Murchison does and I think that they could be in a great relationship but the think that stands in there way is the fact that she is already going out with George her rich boyfriend.
ReplyDeleteI think Asagi is a nice person. Him and Berneatha could be boyfriend & girlfriend because he could help her see & get to her inner self and who she really is. I think nothing can really stand in the way of them having successful relationship besides George, the rich black boy that she goes on dates with but will never date him.
ReplyDeleteAsagai is different from the other guys that Beneatha has met because he isn't from Chicago. Asagai is very nice because he gave Beneatha a gift from Nigeria. It was a robe that belonged to Asagai's sister. It could be possible that that Beneatha and Asagai could go out but Beneatha has a boyfriend and asagai would go back to africa.

Asagai is a african men, beneatha is sharing her life with asagai like about the money that her parents took and told asagai that and then said that if it was her money and if she had work as it. The one thing that is standing between them is that they would fight over any little thing.
ReplyDeletewhat i think about asagai is that he is really nice and i think that he likes Bernetha. I think that Asagai and Berneatha would be a cute couple, but one thing is in the way. Berneatha is in love with George, so there is a love triangle.

He is from Nigeria, Africa and comes back from Canada(where he was studying).He brings Beneatha a dress from Africa.I do think that they can be going out but what stands in the way of it is Walter. He is always complaining and doesn't seem to like his culture that much.

It sounds to me like they really like eachother and they could be a couple, but it might be difficult for them because of the different cultures.

ReplyDeleteAsagai is a nice person and he really likes Berneatha and he’s simple and the guy that Berneatha is with rite now is rich and he also really like Berneatha but she doesn’t feel the same way for him. I think that they could be boyfriend and girlfriend because she likes him for him and he likes her for her, not because one of them is richer. Since she already has a boyfriend they cant just be boyfriend and girlfriend because Berneathas boyfriend is taking the relationship serious and he might be close to asking her to get married.

I don't think that he and Berneatha could be boyfriend and girlfriend because they have different ideas on what a relationship should be like and the feelings between people. And I don't think he really takes her seriously either. He implied that the feeling he has for her, which I think is just that he likes her, should be enough, but Berneatha thinks there should be something more between two people who get married.

ReplyDeleteAsagai is a man who is comfortable with his identity and heritage. He also likes to joke and have joy. Beneatha has trouble figuring out her own identity and she is very serious. He helps to lighten her moods and he helps her to figure out her identity.
ReplyDeleteIm my onpinion asagai is a nice and well mannered person, but i don't think breneatha and him can be in a realashionship only beacuse they have very diffrent opinions in how a realshionship should be abd there don't really have anything in common. I also don't belive that he has deep feelings for her, but besides his & hers realashionship i think he's a very nice guy.
ReplyDeleteI think that asagai and berneatha are somewhat opposites. Asagai likes to joke and he respects his culture. Berneatha is serious and doesn't really knows who she is. Someyimes opposites attract and sometimes one can't stand the other, so it is a possibility for them to be together. I think that they will go out but will have multiple arguments.
